Imperial Chopper

IMPERIAL CHOPPER is a homegrown fan film produced by Dream Scheme Productions. It was released in March 2005 to great response and has been aired on national tv, Premiere events and is currently making the rounds at film festivals.It is fast becoming one of most popular Indy films in fandom. We recruited the best help Denver has to offer from Organizations such as the 501st, the Rocky Mountain fan force, the U.S.S Storm bringer and various local FX, makeup and CGI talent.

Get ready for the DIRECTOR'S CUT of IMPERIAL CHOPPER. The special edition is nearing completion and will release in early 2006. This special cut restores the film to its original intention (not the severe atom films guidelines). We have been working on this edit for 5 months now and am nearly finished (just fishing for a few special fx shots).

This Special Edition extends previous scenes, adds nearly 10 minutes of new scenes, and showcases enchanced Special FX all to the additional music of John Williams, ACDC and Megadeath.

A word from the Director

Hello and thanks for checking out our film!! As fans of both STAR WARS and AMERICAN CHOPPER, we wanted to bring something unique to the rapidly growing genre of the fan- produced film

Imperial Chopper began as a joke between Johnathan Simmons and myself and rapidly morphed into a project that would grow MUCH larger than the both of us. Having a background in filmmaking and special effects, I took Johnathan up on the idea and together we put together a script that blended American Chopper with the Star Wars Universe.

As the scripting and storyboarding progressed, we enlisted the best talent Denver has to offer and DreamScheme Studios began construction on a 13 foot long functional swoop bike, set pieces, a 7 foot tall Wookie Costume, miscellaneous props, and several alien characters.

Next came cast and crew. Steven Gibson, or 'Doc' as his friends refer to him, came on as pyrotechnic specialist and prop fabricator and it became clear that he was a natural for the role of Paul Senior. Drew Barker enlisted as a swoop bike engineer and was a perfect fit for the role of Mikey. Our good friend Troy Ollom stepped into the role of Vader and Frank Leitz, all 6'4 of him, slipped into platform boots and Wookie Costume Sandra McKown and Frances Simmons had fabricated tirelessly for 3 months. Electronic Guru Nathan Tierney volunteered custom electronics for our swoop bike and we were ready to film!!!!!

The rest of the cast and crew fell into place as we began shooting in December 2004 with the help of local friends and talent including the U.S.S. Stormbringer, the Rocky Mountain Fanforce, and the 501st. Jim Shima, founder of Hyperdyne Labs, contributed his astonishing radio controlled Astromech and quickly began to steal the show. Being the first movie I've directed since College (UCLA) things went fairly smoothly and we wrapped in Jan 2005. Editing, special effects, and mixing continued through March and well, there you have it.

I want to thank the entire cast and crew (over 30 people!!) for helping bring this project together. It was alot of hard work but also alot of fun! Special thanks go to the guys at O.C.C. and of course, George Lucas for giving us such a rich and wonderful world to play in.
