This is the BUG DROID, otherwise known as the Sand crawler Robot or the DEATH STAR DROID. He is made using the same parts as the Protocol Droid except I created an alternate head and chest plate from scratch. He stands approx 5'11" and is completely black except for some wiring detail and a GOLD PLATED visor. He stands on a custom made Death star base.

The bug droid head is a custom sculpture I made back in 2000. The kit consists of the main head shell casting, a vacuuformed visor, 2 antenna plugs, crown details, 2 tusks, and several small detail pieces.

The BUG DROID kit started life as a clay sculpt back in 2001, and slowly developed over the next few years. The final kit is composed of a rotocast urethane helmet shell, a vacformed visor (gold plated), a forehead medallion, knobs, buttons, and a metal antennae.
